Impacts on the Wine Business from Audacity Wines
It has been a challenging few weeks in Mauritius for all residents and businesses due to the impact of Covid-19. We do hope you and your families are all safe and well.
New Horizon Wines Limited is a specialist in premium Australian wines and spirits, supplying mainly to five-star hotels and top restaurants in Mauritius. Audacity Wines is the retail arm with an outlet at Flacq Retail Park, Boulet Rouge, Flacq.
The closure of the hotels and restaurants due to the lockdown in Mauritius has had a dramatic impact on our wholesale business. We feel for our valued customers at this extremely difficult time and we will be there to support them with our quality products and high levels of service for the re-opening.
Out of necessity, the key focus during the lockdown has been on our retail business, Audacity Wines. Fortunately when we established our business in 2015 we invested in a user-friendly website (shop.audacitywines.mu) and other supporting technologies. This set-up has enabled us to react effectively to the lockdown regime and allowed us to quickly commence supplying to our retail customers as soon as the required permits were received.
The most important consideration for us in response to Covid-19 is the safety and wellbeing of our staff and customers. Internal procedures for our staff and Contactless Delivery protocols were put in place to ensure we were responding appropriately to the additional risks arising from the pandemic.
Our team has been interacting with our customers through many channels, including Newsletters, social media, emails and by phone. This multi-faceted approach has allowed us to communicate effectively with our existing customers, and also to reach out to new customers, with our special offers and product recommendations.
We have received very encouraging feedback on the responsiveness of our team, the professionalism of our deliveries and the quality of our products from both new and existing customers. For those of you who have received a delivery, you will have met Sharon, who is doing an amazing job to ensure you receive your orders safely. Vayouna has also been fantastic in liaising with you for your orders and other queries. She is super helpful and extremely happy to make recommendations.
